Language is the key to a new life. Folkuniversitetet is passionate about language courses and we have a long history of offering Swedish language courses. We have something for everyone, from beginners to experiences speakers.
Welcome to our Swedish language courses!
Participants can be flexible when taking a course. There are daytime and evening courses. Course participants can study intensively every day or at a slower pace if they would like to combine study with work. Folkuniversitetet offers courses in both general Swedish and courses for those who need specific language skills as part of their work, such as healthcare workers. You can also choose between conversation courses, pronunciation and grammar courses at a pace that suits you. Folkuniversitetet also offers companies and public administration offices tailor-made solutions that can be adjusted to their individual needs.
What course should i choose?
Folkuniversitetet’s Swedish language courses are divided into level from A1 for beginners to C2 for advanced users. The course designation, such as A1, also specifies the course objective, i.e. what you should be able to do after completing the course. If you feel that meet the criteria for what you should know at level A1, you should choose the level slightly above it, i.e. A2 in this case.
Variations between study locations
Our Swedish language courses can have some variations depending on where you study. In some places, the language levels are divided into different modules. Some courses therefore have a plus or minus next to their designation.
The framework determines your level
The A1-C2 levels are from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, a scale which allows us to assess the level of a person’s language skills. The framework is based on an international standard used throughout Europe. Folkuniversitetet’s Swedish language courses are based on course syllabuses created using the framework.
